SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025 Exam Slot Selection Process Started

SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025 Exam Slot Selection Process Started!

If you have applied for the SSC Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination, 2025, this news is very important for you. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released a new notification regarding the selection of your exam center and dates.

Vacancy Description

The Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) is a Group ‘C’ non-gazetted post serving in various Government Ministries and Departments. Their role involves managing files, general office maintenance, and providing basic administrative assistance. The Havaldar post is within the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN), where duties include security, surveillance, and field assistance.

What is the New “Self-Slot Selection” System?

Previously, the SSC allotted the exam date and city to candidates automatically. However, for this examination, the Commission has introduced a Self-Slot Selection facility. This means you can now choose your preferred Examination City and Block of Dates.

This is a student-friendly move designed to help you plan your exam according to your convenience. To use this facility, you must login to the candidate portal and exercise your choice.

Important Dates (Mark Your Calendar)

The Computer-Based Examination is scheduled to begin on February 4, 2026. Before that, you must complete the following steps:

  • Slot Selection Window: From January 16, 2026, to January 25, 2026 (until 11:00 PM).

  • Feedback Module (Last Chance): If you fail to select a slot, you must confirm your willingness to appear through the Feedback Module by January 28, 2026 (11:00 PM)

  • City Live Date: Final city details will be live on January 30, 2026.

  • Admit Card (Admission Certificate): These will be generated 2 to 3 days before your specific exam date.

How to Select Your Slot? (Step-by-Step)

  1. Visit the official SSC website.

  2. Login to your Candidate Portal.

  3. Look for the “Slot Selection” option and exercise your choice.

  4. Select your preferred city and date block and submit.

Warning: Options once submitted are considered final. No further changes will be allowed, and the Commission will not entertain any representations regarding slot changes.

What Happens if You Don’t Select a Slot?

This is the most critical point. If a candidate does not select a slot within the time limit and fails to confirm their willingness through the Feedback Module by January 28, 2026, the Commission will infer that you do not intend to take the exam.

In such cases, your Admission Certificate (Admit Card) WILL NOT BE GENERATED. Therefore, please visit the portal immediately to submit your preference.

Final Selection and Allocation

The Commission has clarified that slot allocation will be done on a “Best Effort Basis”. While they will try to accommodate your choice, the Commission’s final decision will be binding.

Quick Tips for Candidates

  • First Come, First Served: Complete your slot selection early to increase your chances of getting your preferred city and date.

  • Login Details: Keep your registration number and password ready.

  • Don’t Wait for the Deadline: The website may face heavy traffic on the night of January 25th, so complete the process as soon as possible.

We hope this information is helpful. Best of luck with your SSC MTS & Havaldar 2025 exam!
