Jharkhand Public Service Commission has officially released an important notification regarding the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services (Backlog) Preliminary Competitive Examination 2025. According to the latest press release issued by the commission, the examination will be conducted on 17 May 2026 (Sunday) in Ranchi district in two shifts. JPSC Preliminary Exam 2025 Schedule
As per the official notice, the preliminary examination will be held on 17 May 2026 in two separate shifts.
First Shift
Time: 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon
Subject: General Studies (Paper-I)
Second Shift
Time: 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM
Subject: General Studies (Paper-II)
The examination will be conducted in Ranchi district. Candidates are advised to reach the examination center well before the reporting time to avoid any inconvenience.
JPSC Admit Card 2025 Download Process
The commission has clearly stated that Admit Cards will not be sent through post. All candidates must download their hall tickets online through the official portal.
Candidates can follow these simple steps to download the Admit Card:
- Visit the official JPSC website
- Open the OTR login portal
- Enter Registration Number / Email ID / Phone Number / Candidate ID
- Enter Password
- Login and download the Admit Card
- Take a printout for future use
According to the notification, the Admit Card has been made available from 10 May 2026 onwards.
Documents Required at Examination Center
Candidates must carry the following documents to the examination center:
- Printed Admit Card
- Attendance Sheet
- Four self-attested colored photographs
- One valid photo identity proof
The commission has warned that candidates without the required documents may not be allowed to appear in the examination.
Reporting Time for Candidates
JPSC has instructed all candidates to report at the examination center well before the exam begins.
- For First Shift: Reach by 08:00 AM
- For Second Shift: Reach by 01:00 PM
Biometric verification and IRIS scanning arrangements have also been made at the examination centers for identity verification.
Important Instructions for OMR Sheet
Candidates are advised to carefully read all instructions printed on the Admit Card and OMR Sheet before filling any information. Incorrect or incomplete details may lead to cancellation of candidature.
The commission has also instructed candidates to use only Blue or Black Ball Point Pens while marking answers on the OMR Sheet. Therefore, candidates should carry an appropriate pen to the examination hall.
Prohibited Items Inside Exam Center
JPSC has strictly prohibited electronic gadgets and other restricted items inside the examination premises. Candidates must not carry:

- Bags
- Books or Notes

- Weapons or prohibited materials
Violation of these rules may result in strict disciplinary action, including debarment from future examinations.
Important Notice for PwD Candidates
Candidates belonging to the Divyang/PwD category who require the facility of a Scribe must submit a request along with valid medical certificates to the center superintendent at least three days before the examination date. Necessary arrangements will then be made by the authorities.
